Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Game of Thrones and The Lord of the Rings alum Sean Bean is set to star in World on Fire, a seven-part drama set in the 1930s and '40s, ITV announced Tuesday.
The miniseries' ensemble also will include the previously announced Helen Hunt and Lesley Manville.
Peter Bowker wrote the drama, which is being produced by Mammoth Screen -- a division of ITV Studios -- for the British television channel BBC One.
"World on Fire is an adrenalized, emotionally gripping and resonant drama following the first year of World War II told through the intertwining fates of ordinary people drawn from Britain, Poland, France, Germany and the United States as they grapple with the effect of the war on their everyday lives," a press release said.
Filming started in September in Prague. Other filming locations will include Manchester and Paris.
Bean's screen credits include GoldenEye, Troy, Patriot Games, Don't Say a Word, National Treasure, Legends, The Frankenstein Chronicles and The Oath.
