May 12 (UPI) -- Oscar-winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese has signed on to lead a Netflix special about the iconic, Canadian sketch-comedy series SCTV.

Scheduled to premiere next year on CTV in Canada and Netflix everywhere else, the program will star Rick Moranis, Joe Flaherty, Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin, Catherine O'Hara, Martin Short and Dave Thomas.

The SCTV cast is to reunite Sunday for a panel discussion moderated by Jimmy Kimmel at Toronto's Elgin Theatre. It will be filmed and included in the special.

SCTV aired for six seasons between 1976 and 1984. The show also featured the late John Candy and Harold Ramis.
