Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Alden Ehrenreich portrays a young Han Solo who dreams of becoming the best pilot in the galaxy in the first teaser trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story.
The clip, released Monday on Good Morning America, dives into the iconic Star Wars character's past as he, alongside Chewbacca, join a team put together by Woody Harrelson for a special job that includes Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton and Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian.
"I've been running scams on the street since I was 10," Ehrenreich, taking on the role first made famous by Harrison Ford, says about his past.
The trailer also includes Ehrenreich and his team navigating through a slew of tentacles and enemy ships while piloting the Millennium Falcon.
"I thought we were in trouble there for a second, but it's fine," Ehrenreich says before winking, following a close call.
Solo: A Star Wars Story is directed by Ron Howard who took over directing duties in June in place of filmmakers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller -- who were booted off the project over "different creative visions."
The film is set to hit theaters on May 25.
