Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Alicia Vikander brings iconic video game character Lara Croft to life in a new trailer for Warner Bros. upcoming reboot of Tomb Raider.

The clip, released Sunday, features Vikander in a number of precarious situations including having to make it off a sinking boat, surviving a booby trapped temple and falling into a raging river.

As Lara Croft is seen encountering a group of dangerous mercenaries, Vikander is seen fighting back in classic Tomb Raider fashion by using a bow and arrow and then later choosing to arm herself with a set of dual pistols.

"Lara Croft, the fiercely independent daughter of a missing adventurer, must push herself beyond her limits when she finds herself on the island where her father disappeared," reads the synopsis.

Tomb Raider, directed by Roar Uthaug, also stars Walton Goggins and Daniel Wu. The film is set to arrive in theaters on March 16.
