"Sometimes the funniest thing to say is mean. Remember, I'm not saying it to be mean. I'm saying it because it's funny," he continues while performing in front of a live audience.

The teaser refers to The Closer as the sixth chapter in Chappelle's standup history.

The 48-year-old has previously released specials The Age of Spin, Deep in the Heart of Texas, Equanimity, The Bird Revelation and Sticks and Stones.

Chappelle, in June, joined the Foo Fighters onstage at the band's New York show in Madison Square Garden. Chappelle teamed up with the band to perform a cover of "Creep" by Radiohead.
