The new production of Waitress will run Jan. 7 through Feb. 3 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre in New York. Tony-winning actor Gavin Creel will play Dr. Pomatter.

"It's Waitress' third anniversary on Broadway! To celebrate, I'm putting on the apron once again alongside one of my besties!" Bareilles said in a statement.

"I can't think of anything I would rather do to kick off this incredible milestone year than return to my favorite place on earth next to the one and only Gavin Creel," she added.

Bareilles shared her excitement in a tweet Friday, writing, "Best news ever! Eeeeeeee!!" Waitress confirmed the news in a post on its official Instagram account.

"These 2 #DinerBFFs are joining the cast of Waitress together on Broadway! Don't miss @sarabareilles and @gavincreelofficial January 7 - February 3!" the post reads.

Waitress is based on the 2007 movie of the same name starring Keri Russell. Bareilles composed the music and wrote the lyrics for the musical adaptation, and first played Jenna in 2017.
