The couple called a 24-hour marine and wildlife hotline and stayed to assist volunteers from the Channel Islands Marine & Wildlife Institute, but they were not able to rescue the animal Thursday night as the sun was setting.

The group returned Friday and captured the seal, which was malnourished, weighing about 26 pounds.

He is now receiving medical care at a wildlife rehab.

He is currently at their Santa Barbara facility getting rehabbed and prepped to be released back into the wild as soon as he's able amazing organization doing amazing work for marine animals in need. Thank you!!" the actress captioned a photo of the pup in an animal carrier Friday.
