Nov. 3 (UPI) -- 30 Rock and Saturday Night Live Emmy winner Alec Baldwin has denied on Twitter allegations that he punched a man in a dispute over a parking spot.
"1 - Normally, I would not comment on something as egregiously misstated as today's story. However, the assertion that I punched anyone over a parking spot is false. I wanted to go on the record stating as much. I realize that it has become a sport to tag people w as many negative," Baldwin tweeted.
He added: "2- negative charges and defaming allegations as possible for the purposes of clickbait entertainment. Fortunately, no matter how reverberating the echos, it doesn't make the statements true."
Police confirmed the 60-year-old actor was arrested Friday morning after the alleged altercation and was expected to be charged with third-degree assault.
Baldwin was previously arrested on a disorderly conduct charge in 2014. He was acquitted of battery in the 1990s after allegedly fighting with a photographer.
