BEIRUT, Lebanon, Dec. 2 (UPI) -- The wife and son of Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi were arrested 10 days ago after crossing the border from Syria, reports the Lebanese army.

They were said to be crossing the border with forged documents. The arrest was reportedly made in coordination with "foreign intelligence services."

Other reports about the arrest suggest it was his ex-wife and one of his daughters arrested. IS supporters have taken to social media to deny the arrest. A hashtag saying "the arrest of the wife of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is a lie" has been circulating from IS-friendly Twitter users.

Little is known about al-Baghdadi and the identity of his wife or if he has more than one is hazy.
