Johnson pleaded not guilty. She is being held in Pima County Jail on a $250,000 bond, according to KOLD.

Roby Johnson, Melody Johnson's husband, alleges that he began noticing that his coffee tasted strange when he and his wife were stationed in Germany in March. Roby Johnson serves in the U.S. Air Force.

After a few weeks, he used pool testing strips to test the coffee and found that it contained high levels of chlorine.

Roby Johnson then installed hidden cameras to catch his wife putting something into his coffee, CNN reported.

In June the couple returned to Tucson in temporary housing. He set up cameras there as well. The footage allegedly captured her putting bleach into a container and pouring it into the coffee maker.

Roby Johnson shared the footage with the Tucson Police. He believes his wife was trying to kill him to collect "death benefits."
