March 15 (UPI) -- Americans can now check online with the Internal Revenue Service to find out when the agency plans to deposit the third direct stimulus payment, which will be $1,400 for many people.

The IRS has updated its "Get My Payment" system to reflect the latest payment included by President Joe Biden's American Rescue Plan, which was passed by the House and signed last week.

The IRS rolled out the online tool after the first $1,200 payment a year ago and updated it in December for the second, for $600. The agency previously said the tool would begin working for most Americans on Monday.

To learn the details of your payment, the IRS asks for a Social Security number or tax ID number, a date of birth, a partial home address and a postal code.

Officials said the first Americans began receiving their payments on Friday, a day after Biden signed the ARP into law. It was previously passed by Democrats in the House and Senate. Not a single Republican in either chamber voted for the relief package.

Americans who earned less than $80,000 in their most recently filed tax year, 2019 or 2020, will receive a payment. Those who earned less than $75,000 will receive the full $1,400 amount.

Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and their spouses will begin to promote the benefits of the rescue plan across the United States this week. The "Help is Here" tour will open with Harris visiting Las Vegas Monday and first lady Jill Biden in New Jersey.

Tuesday, Harris will visit Denver, Jill Biden will be in New Hampshire and second gentleman Doug Emhoff will travel to New Mexico. The president and vice president plan to appear at an event in Atlanta on Friday.

The president, who is expected to visit Pennsylvania on Tuesday, will speak about the promotional efforts at a news conference at the White House at 1:45 p.m. EDT on Monday.
