HIGHLAND PARK, Ill., June 20 (UPI) -- The co-creator of politically incorrect party game 'Cards Against Humanity' has publicly apologized for a discontinued card that had insensitive language.

The game has players pair intentionally shocking answer cards to open ended, sometimes humorours questions. For example, when asked "What's that sound," one might answer "The violation of our most basic human rights," in the game of competitive dark humor. But the insensitivity of one card went too far a young transgender player.

During a game with friends, Tumblr user horriblewarning drew an answer card that read "passible transvestites."

"A lot of my friends are LGBT, emphasis on the 'T,'" horriblewarning, whose first name is Jonah, told Fusion writer Jessica Roy.

"Somebody played that card, and somebody else was like, 'That's not okay.' I decided I didn't want it in my deck."

Jonah then proceeded to document burning the card and posted the photos to a personal Tumblr page. The post drew such a strong response that one of the co-creators responded on to Jonah, also via Tumblr

"I regret writing this card, it was a mean, cheap joke," Max Temkin wrote. "We took it out of the game a while ago."

"We were writing jokes for ourselves and we weren't really thinking about how it would affect other people," Temkin said to Fusion. "But when you have something that starts to be part of pop culture, you can't help but see how it makes people feel and feel some sense of responsibility for that."

"It's embarrassing to me that there was a time in my life that that was funny."
