Riverside County deputies responding to a report of a violent argument found Flynn's body in the backyard pool Monday afternoon, police said. Smith was arrested the next day on suspicion of murder.

Flynn owned more than 15,000 shoes and related items.

She and Smith had appeared together on the cable channel TLC, where he talked about making her a shoe-shaped breakfast.

"I am very crazy obsessed with shoes," Flynn told the interviewer. "I'll be surrounded by shoes when I die."

Guinness verified Flynn's world record collection in 2006.
