Obama plans visit to Myanmar

The president also plans to visit Thailand and Cambodia as part of his trip to Southeast Asia for an economic summit meeting later this month.

Obama's itinerary includes meetings with senior leaders in Myanmar and with Aung San Suu Kyi, the opposition leader he met when she visited the United States during her first trip out of the country in years.

The Obama administration has been moving to warmer relations with Myanmar, the country formerly known as Burma, since its leaders moved toward democracy.
