WASHINGTON, Oct. 11 (UPI) -- A CNN poll found GOP vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan beat U.S. Vice President Joe Biden in their debate, but Biden won in a CBS poll of undecided voters.
In a sometimes-contentious debate Thursday in Danville, Ky., Biden -- using words including "malarkey" and showing considerable impatience at times -- frequently interrupted to challenge Ryan's debate points, while Ryan said the nation is witnessing "the absolute unraveling of the Obama foreign policy."
Following their 90-minute debate on Libya, Iran, Afghanistan, Medicare, federal spending, taxes and abortion -- among other topics -- CNN said 48 percent of respondents to it snap poll thought Ryan won the debate and 44 percent gave it to Biden.
However, 50 percent of those responding to a CBS snap poll of undecided voters said Biden won the debate. Thirty-one percent said Ryan won and 19 percent said they were not sure.
