PALM BEACH, Fla., June 6 (UPI) -- Florida polo mogul John Goodman, convicted of DUI manslaughter, will be placed under house arrest in his Wellington estate, court papers said.

The terms of his house arrest, signed by Circuit Judge Jeffrey Colbath, allow Goodman one hour a day to roam outside his 11,000-square foot estate. He is also permitted as many as six non-family members in his office at a time for business purposes.

He will be required to wear a monitoring device and to hire a police officer to be within a 100 feet of him at all times.

Goodman, 48, was found guilty in the death of Scott Wilson May 11, and sentenced to 16 years in prison. He has posted a $7 million cash bond, and will be allowed to stay out of prison and under house arrest while he appeals his conviction.

Since it was revealed a juror conducted a drinking experiment prior to voting on Goodman's conviction, his defense team is appealing the conviction on the grounds of juror misconduct, which could take as long as two years.

Scott Wilson, 23, was killed in February 2010 when Goodman's car sped through a stop sign and slammed into Wilson's, launching it into a canal, after which Goodman fled the scene. Goodman admitted to having had three drinks before getting behind the wheel.
