BOSTON, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- Catherine Greig, who shared Boston mob boss James "Whitey" Bulger's life as a fugitive, was given a tentative April trial date Thursday.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Jennifer Boal did not make an immediate decision on a motion for bail for the former dental technician, The Boston Globe reported. Boal scheduled a pre-trial hearing Nov. 29 and set April 26 as a trial date.

Greig, 60, and Bulger, 82, were arrested in June in Santa Monica, Calif. They had been living in the same apartment under assumed names for at least 13 years.

While Greig now faces only one count of harboring a fugitive, federal prosecutors said Wednesday they intended to bring a superseding indictment with new charges.

"The government's going to do what the government wants to do," defense lawyer Kevin Reddington said Thursday, when asked about the possibility of a new indictment. "That's why we have juries."

Bulger faces a long list of charges going back years and including numerous homicides. For many years, he served as an FBI informant while agents allegedly protected him.
