ST. LOUIS, June 7 (UPI) -- The parents of a young woman who died of an overdose at Missouri beer heir August Busch IV's mansion are trying to join the lawsuit on her death.

Their appeal has delayed a settlement with 8-year-old Blake Martin, son of Busch's girlfriend Adrienne Martin, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

Martin was found dead in December at Busch's home in Huntleigh, Mo. Her death was ruled an accidental overdose of oxycodone with a coroner also reporting she had enough cocaine in her system to kill her.

Her ex-husband, Dr. Kevin Martin of Cape Girardeau, Mo., sued on behalf of his son.

Busch agreed to a $1.5 million settlement but that has been delayed indefinitely. Adrienne Martin's parents, Christine Trampler and George Eby, were turned down by a lower court in their bid to become parties to the lawsuit, but they have appealed.

Being a party to the lawsuit would give Trampler and Eby some say on any settlement. They can try to get a share of the settlement if they lose their appeal.

Busch, a great-great-grandson of Adolphus Busch, founder of Anheuser-Busch, was the company's chief executive officer until it was sold to InBev in 2008.
