School employee admits sharing child porn

SOUTH BEND, Ind., March 31 (UPI) -- A former military boarding school employee and summer camp director in Indiana pleaded guilty to child pornography charges involving preadolescent boys.

Timothy J. Warrick, 61, of Culver, who worked for Culver Academies, admitted to U.S. District Judge Robert L. Miller Jr. he downloaded at least 8,500 digital images and videos of men having sex with nude preteen boys, court records indicated.

He also shared the files with other Web users, he admitted.

Miller set Warrick's sentencing for July 5 and granted the government's motion that Warrick be detained until then, the South Bend Tribune reported.

Warrick is a former Indiana National Guard colonel and a former military science professor at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind.

In the 1980s he directed Culver's Woodcraft summer camp for boys and girls ages 9-13.

He was not charged with victimizing children there. But investigators found images of children from the camp on his computer that were "erotic" and "inappropriate" if not pornographic, Assistant U.S. Attorney John Maciejczyk said in court.

Culver Academies would not say what job Warrick most recently held there, the Tribune said. Warrick told authorities he resigned soon after his indictment.
