WASHINGTON, March 12 (UPI) -- U.S. first lady Michelle Obama will make her first solo trip in an official capacity in April when she travels to Mexico City, the White House said Friday.
Obama's agenda for the April 13-15 visit is expected to demonstrate President Barack Obama''s commitment to advancing mutual interests, respect and responsibility between nations and peoples around the world, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said in a statement.

During this visit, the first lady will have the chance to engage the citizens of Mexico, especially young people, and build on her recent conversation with Mexican first lady Margarita Zavala de Calderon on education and economic advancements in the two countries, the statement said.
