WASHINGTON, Oct. 12 (UPI) -- Pollster John Zogby Tuesday said the U.S. presidential race between Democrat John Kerry and Republican George Bush was a dead heat.
Bush, he said, "has bounced back into a dead-heat race with Sen. John Kerry," with the candidates tied at 45 percent in Zogby's daily tracking poll. The tracking poll for Oct. 8-10 had Kerry at 47 percent and Bush at 44 percent, with independent Ralph Nader at 1.7 percent.

In the latest tracking poll, Nader had 1.6 percent
The poll of 1,223 likely voters was taken Oct. 9-11 after the second presidential debate, and has an error margin of plus or minus 2.9 points.
