Bush critic Moore back at GOP convention

NEW YORK, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Controversial anti-Bush filmmaker Michael Moore turned up at the Republican National Convention Wednesday and said his film could impact the election.

"Look, if my film wasn't having any impact, if it was just being seen by a small art house crowd of lefties, they could care less at that point. The fact that it has been seen by 23 million people and is having an impact with people on the fence, I can understand why they are upset."

Moore's documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11," released in movie theaters earlier this summer, is a scathing attack on President George W. Bush and the war in Iraq. Republicans and others say the film is factually incorrect and misleading.

Moore, who has made his personal dislike for Bush no secret, first showed up as a guest at the convention in Madison Square Garden Monday and was booed off the floor when spotted by delegates. Moore is writing a daily column from the convention for USA Today.

On Wednesday he appeared again as a guest of The Late Show with David Letterman, who was interviewing him at the convention venue.
