Columbine sheriff subpoenaed

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo., Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Several Jefferson County, Colo., deputies were subpoenaed to appear Friday before a grand jury investigating an alleged cover-up in the Columbine massacre.

Current and former officers, including former Sheriff John Stone, were called to testify about missing police files on Columbine killers Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold and how top officials described to the public how the killers were handled by authorities, the Rocky Mountain News reported.

The grand jury is part of a 10-month-old investigation initiated by state Attorney General Ken Salazar looking into reports filed on Harris and Klebold during the two years leading up to the April 20, 1999, tragedy.

"I'm not worried. I've done nothing wrong," Stone said Thursday.
