Grand jury help sought in Columbine search

DENVER, May 14 (UPI) -- Colorado Attorney General Ken Salazar wants a grand jury to look into missing files from the 1999 Columbine High School shooting investigation.

The missing files involve 1998 reports on Eric Harris, one of the killers, and some sheriff's office activity logs from the same year, the Denver Post reported Friday.

Columbine students Harris and Dylan Klebold killed 13 people and then themselves in the school rampage.

Pam Russell, the district attorney's spokeswoman, said on Feb. 26, Salazar released a 39-page report on his four-month look at the sheriff's office's failure to follow through on an investigation into one of the killers that might have headed off the tragedy. It was noted at that time the documents were missing, Russell said.

Some of the documents involved Detective Mike Guerra, who investigated complaints that Harris had made threats against another Columbine student more than a year before the shootings.
