Jordan king has Arafat message for Bush

AMMAN, Jordan, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Jordan's King Abdullah II is to deliver a message from Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat to U.S. President George W. Bush at their meeting Friday.

Senior Palestinian official Hani Hassan, a member of Fatah's Central Committee and former minister of interior in the Palestinian Authority, told Jordan's television the Palestinians hoped Abdullah's visit to the United States and his meeting with Bush would have positive results in reactivating the peace process in the Middle East.

"We hope that his Majesty the king will come back with good news regarding the peace process," Hassan said Thursday.

Hassan refused, however, to disclose the content of the message Abdullah was carrying from Arafat to Bush saying it tackled several subjects.
