Nov. 3 (UPI) -- French forward Antoine Griezmann scored Atletico Madrid's only goal in a 1-1 draw with Leganes with a sensational free kick on Saturday in Leganes, Spain.

The 30-yard snipe came in the 69th minute. Griezmann stepped up for the strike and booted the kick with his left foot. The ball sailed over a wall of defenders and landed in the upper right portion of the net, beating Leganes' Ivan Cuellar, who didn't even leave his mark during the attempt.

But Leganes hit the equalizer in the 82nd minute on the boot of Guido Carrillo.

The Argentine got that score by sending in a volley off of a free kick that went to the far post.

"In the first half we didn't play how we wanted to, but we did in the second half," Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone told the team website. "I think that the second half represented the game we wanted to play. In the second half, we wanted to have players on the pitch who could dribble. Gelson had played well and scored a goal in the Copa del Rey. We have a lot of confidence in our players, and they know it and are ready to play."
