The Jacksonville Jaguars waived wide receiver Jaelen Strong, Mike Kaye of First Coast News reported Monday.

Strong, 24, suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in a December 24 loss to the San Francisco 49ers and is still recuperating.

Strong caught three passes for 38 yards and one touchdown in one game for the Jaguars last season.

The Jaguars claimed him off waivers on September 19 after he was waived by the Houston Texans.

He was suspended for one game for violating the NFL's policy on substance abuse, which caused him to miss the 2017 season opener while with the Texans. He played in one game for Houston but did not have any receptions before being waived.

He caught 14 passes in each of his first two seasons with Houston (2015 and 2016) and started 18 games in that two-year span.
