Defensive end George Johnson apparently made quite the impression during his short time with the New Orleans Saints.

Johnson, who was set to become a free agent next week, has re-signed on a one-year deal with the Saints, according to ESPN's Field Yates.

The 30-year-old Johnson recorded 2.5 sacks in his first two games with New Orleans and made big plays in the postseason. He finished 2017 with five tackles and one pass deflection in three contests with the Saints.

Johnson entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2010 and has also spent time with the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions. He has recorded 66 tackles, 8.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 43 career contests.
