New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady shed some light on his injured right hand on Tuesday, although he kept it comfortably hidden within a black glove.

Brady recently had 12 stitches removed from his throwing hand and admitted on Tuesday that the injury is far from fully healed.

"It's getting better. It's not quite where I want to be, so I'm just trying to protect it the best way I can," the 40-year-old Brady said. "It's obviously a very important part of my body for a quarterback, so I want it to be as healthy as possible for the game on Sunday."

The Patriots will face the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII on Sunday (6:30 p.m. ET).

Brady sported a black glove that he said was made exclusively for him by Under Armour.

"Under Armour just made it for me," Brady said. "It's a great glove. It's got a lot of recovery in it, and that's what I need at this time."

Brady initially sustained the injury after colliding with running back Rex Burkhead on a handoff attempt during practice.

Brady played with tape covering the wound on Jan. 21, completing 26 of 38 passes for 290 yards and two touchdowns in New England's 24-20 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC Championship Game.
