Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll is keeping his options open as he looks for a backup quarterback behind starter Russell Wilson.

When asked on 710 ESPN Seattle if the team is looking at perhaps free agent Colin Kaepernick or Robert Griffin III, Carroll wasn't shy about revealing his hand on Monday.

"We're looking at everybody. We really are," Carroll said. "We've been tracking everything that's going on, and we've got cap and roster issues and stuff like that that we're still trying to manage properly. But quite frankly, yes, we are looking at all those guys."

While Wilson has yet to miss a start in his NFL career, the depth at quarterback hardly is imposing. Seattle features undrafted players Trevone Boykin, Jake Heaps and Skyler Howard as backups to Wilson.

Several Seahawks, such as wide receiver Doug Baldwin and defensive end Michael Bennett, were openly in support of Kaepernick during the quarterback's controversial stance on kneeling for the national anthem last season.

With Kaepernick under center, the San Francisco 49ers lost nine straight and 10 of 11 overall to finish last season with the second-worst record in the NFL at 2-14.

Kaepernick threw for 2,241 yards, 16 touchdowns and four interceptions while fumbling a career-worst seven times. He also ran for 468 yards and two TDs.

Griffin was released by the Cleveland Browns after one injury-plagued season. Signed to a two-year deal worth $15 million, Griffin was named the Week 1 starter in 2016 but broke his left shoulder on a scramble in the season-opening loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Griffin missed the next 11 games and started the final four, leading Cleveland to its only win of the season over the then-San Diego Chargers on Christmas Eve in Week 16 and preventing the Browns from becoming only the second team in NFL history to go 0-16.

In five games with the Browns, Griffin completed 87 of 147 passes for 886 yards with two touchdowns, three interceptions and a quarterback rating of 72.5.
