April 10 (UPI) -- New England Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount won't return to Foxborough under the current terms of his contract offer.

Blount, 30, led the NFL with 18 rushing touchdowns in 2016. He played on a $1 million pact last season. CSN New England reported on April 7 that Blount was thinking over an offer that is "on the table." His deal is expected to be for less than $2.5 million.

The Boston Herald reported Monday that Blount "has no plans" to sign the offer, while the Boston Globe reported that the Patriots are expected to sign the free agent "sooner than later."

The Patriots have also been linked to veteran running backs Adrian Peterson and Marshawn Lynch.
