New England Patriots rookie wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell is not expected to play in Saturday night's divisional playoff game against the Houston Texans because of a knee injury.

Mitchell will miss his second straight game, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Mitchell, who was listed as questionable on Friday's injury report, injured the knee in the third quarter of the Patriots' victory over the New York Jets on Dec. 24. He missed the season finale against the Miami Dolphins on Jan. 1 before returning to practice on a limited basis for the first time on Jan. 5.

A fourth-round draft choice out of Georgia in the 2016 draft, Mitchell had 32 catches for 401 yards and four touchdowns in 14 regular-season games (six starts).

With Mitchell sidelined, the Patriots are expected to have four receivers active against Houston: Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan, Michael Floyd and Danny Amendola. Wideout/special teamer Matthew Slater also is expected to play.

Amendola has not played since Dec. 4, missing the final four games of the regular season with an ankle sprain.
