BUFFALO, N.Y., Nov. 26 (UPI) -- If you were smart enough to pick up Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins off of your fantasy league's waiver wire, it's time to get excited.

The Bills activated Watkins off of injured reserve Saturday. Watkins, 23, was placed on IR on September 30 because of lingering soreness from offseason foot surgery.

With Watkins off of IR, he is a near lock to suit up Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. I would hold off on playing him this week if you can, until we see how much work he gets and what kind of physical shape he is in.

If he responds well this week and looks like himself, he should be able to produce like a safe WR2 for the rest of the year, with WR1 upside.

On Friday, Bills offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn said that Watkins has been on a "pitch count" at practice, according to WKBW's Joe Buscaglia. Buscaglia tweeted that Watkins is running at about "3/4 speed" and his conditioning "wasn't there."

Watkins had 63 yards on six receptions in two games before going on IR.
