MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- You might want to rethink starting Minnesota Vikings running back Matt Asiata. Running back Jerick McKinnon, who is dealing with an ankle injury, is active Sunday against the Detroit Lions.
McKinnon and Asiata are both filling in for the injured All-Pro Adrian Peterson. Asiata was in for a bigger day due to McKinnon's questionable status. McKinnon is a more dynamic back, while Asiata is more of a short-yardage specialist.

The 24-year-old has 217 yards and a touchdown on 68 carries this season. Neither back is a great play Sunday. The Lions have only allowed one rushing touchdown to running backs through eight games. McKinnon is a low-end flex play and should only be used as an RB2 in deep leagues. McKinnon hasn't played since Oct. 23, when he ran for 43 yards on 11 carries against he Philadelphia Eagles.
