The Orlando Magic have reportedly zeroed in on two candidates to run their basketball operations department. The Magic intend to offer their president of basketball operations position to Cleveland Cavaliers general manager David Griffin, multiple sources told ESPN.

Griffin, who does not have a contract beyond this season, appears to be the frontrunner for the job.
In addition, the Magic have serious interest in Hall of Famer and TNT analyst Kevin McHale for their team president position, two people with knowledge of the situation told USA TODAY.
The Magic can't talk to Griffin until the end of the Cavs' season. His contract with Cleveland is up after the season unless he gets a contract extension from owner Dan Gilbert.
The Magic fired general manager Rob Hennigan on April 13, one day after the team missed the playoffs for the fifth straight year. Orlando finished 29-53 this season.
Griffin joined the Cavaliers in 2010 as assistant general manager and was promoted to GM in 2014. He put together a series of trades after LeBron James re-signed with the Cavs for their NBA championship team last season.
McHale served as Minnesota Timberwolves' vice president of basketball operations from 1995 to 2008 while also serving as the team's head coach on two occasions. He most recently coached the Houston Rockets before being fired in November 2015.
