Dec. 11 (UPI) -- The Toronto Blue Jays have released shortstop Troy Tulowitzki despite still owing him $38 million.
Toronto announced the move on Tuesday, making Tulowitzki a free agent. Tulowitzki, 34, is a career .290 hitter with two Gold Glove awards and five All-Star appearances. He has played in just 66 games over the last two seasons due to injuries.
