Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Left-handed starting pitcher Brett Anderson has joined the Chicago Cubs' rotation.

MLB Network Insider Ken Rosenthal was the first to report the deal. Anderson, 28, went 1-2 in three starts last season. He had an 11.91 ERA. Yahoo Sports' Jeff Passan reports the deal to be worth $3.5 million with incentives that could push it to $10 million. The deal is pending a physical.

Anderson owns a 3.86 ERA and has a 38-43 record in 127 games. The Arizona Diamondbacks drafted him in 2006 before trading him to the Oakland Athletics in 2007. He played for the Athletics for five years before being traded in 2014 to the Colorado Rockies. He joined the Dodgers as a free agent in 2015 and was granted free agency again in November.

Anderson earned $15.8 million in 2016.
