DENVER, May 11 (UPI) -- It's not everyday that you see gigantic versions of toothpaste, a toothbrush, and a tooth sprinting at you whilst wearing menacing grimaces.

But that's the situation Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Jean Segura was confronted with as he stood outside the team's dugout Wednesday, as it faced the Colorado Rockies.

The Rockies' traditional "Tooth Trot" could have sent Segura to the disabled list, if not for his evasive ability to avoid the dental trio.

"9 out of 10 dentists recommend not getting run over by a toothbrush," the Diamondbacks tweeted.

"The Tooth Trot can get intense at times. Please send our apologies to Segura," the Rockies tweeted.

The Rockies defeated the Diamondbacks 8-7 Wednesday at Coors Field. Segura, 26, leads the league with 49 hits and 140 at bats this season. He is also swatting .350, with five home runs and 17 RBI. Segura went 1-for-5 in the loss, extending his hitting streak to nine games.
