Novak Djokovic, the No. 1 men's player in the world, outlasted Italian Lorenzo Musetti in a five-set thriller Monday in Paris.

The Serbian dropped the first two sets 6-7, 6-7, but rebounded for 6-1 and 6-0 wins in the third and fourth sets, respectively. Djokovic led 4-0 in the fifth set when Musetti retired due to a lower-body injury.

The match lasted three hours, 27 minutes. Djokovic moves on to face Italian Matteo Berrettini in a quarterfinal Tuesday at Roland Garros. Berrettini advanced Monday due to a withdrawal from Switzerland's Roger Federer.

Argentine Diego Schwartzman also advanced out of the men's singles circuit after a win over Germany's Jan-Lennard Struff on Monday on Court Suzanne Lenglen.

Fourth-round matches continue until 6 p.m. EDT Monday on the Tennis Channel and Peacock. The first round of quarterfinal matches airs from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. EDT Tuesday on the Tennis Channel.
