A batter for Team Japan stepped up to the plate with one out in the frame. She belted a pitch to deep left field. The ball looked like it would carry over the outfield fence, but Bruni tracked it down. She sprinted toward the fence and timed her jump perfectly, snagging the ball wtih her gloved left hand before crashing into the barrier.

Senior infielder Lindsey Devitt snagged the final out of the inning, sending the Bulls to the plate.

Team Japan carried a 1-0 lead through the first six innings of the clash. Dezarae Maldonado hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning for the Bulls' only runs in the loss.

Bruni is hitting .286 this season for the Bulls. She also has a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with nine putouts.
