The Baltimore Ravens face a must-win situation when they host the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday and it's anybody's guess who will be their quarterback.
Joe Flacco is listed as doubtful after missing practice all week with a hip injury, but it's possible he could still play. Baltimore coach John Harbaugh, who has declined to publicly name a starter, could also go with rookie Lamar Jackson or Robert Griffin III, who received substantial work with the first-team offense Thursday as Jackson missed practice with a stomach ailment.
Jackson, the 2016 Heisman Trophy winner and the Ravens' first-round pick (No. 32 overall) out of Louisville, has played in every game this season at several positions. He completed 7 of 12 passes for 87 yards and a touchdown, in addition to rushing 28 times for 139 yards and another score. Griffin III has not been active this season.
The Ravens (4-5), who got off to a 3-1 start, trail first-place Pittsburgh (6-2-1) and Cincinnati (5-4) in the AFC North.
--Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Sammy Watkins did not practice again Saturday, dimming his prospects of playing in Monday's night's showdown at the Los Angeles Rams.
Watkins has been dealing a foot injury that forced him to sit out last week's 26-14 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. An MRI taken in the week leading up to the game against Arizona did not reveal any structural damage to the foot.
Watkins was listed as questionable on the injury report released Saturday.
On Thursday, Watkins was able to practice on a limited basis but did not take the field Friday or Saturday. That's an ominous sign that he will not face his former team on Monday night.
--Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers.
Jones did not practice all week because of a right knee injury he sustained in last weekend's 34-22 loss to the Chicago Bears. ESPN reported Friday that Jones was receiving a second opinion on the knee, which it termed a bone bruise.
TJ Jones is expected to draw the starting assignment opposite Kenny Golladay. Recent acquisition Bruce Ellington also is expected to see an increase in playing time.
--Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Dirk Koetter's days of running the offense lasted one game.
Koetter said on his weekly radio show that he will return the play-calling duties to offensive coordinator Todd Monken for Sunday's matchup at the New York Giants.
In Koetter's first game calling plays, the Buccaneers were held to a season-low point total in last week's 16-3 home loss to the Washington Redskins.
