San Diego Chargers running back Danny Woodhead was helped off the field at Qualcomm Stadium Sunday in the first quarter with a right leg injury.

Woodhead caught a pass for a 4-yard gain and was tackled by the Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Telvin Smith. He stayed down for a few minutes until the training staff helped him up.

Woodhead wasn't putting weight on his leg as he came off the field.

The 31-year old Woodhead rushed for 89 yards in last week's season opener at Kansas City and also ripped off a 23-yard run on San Diego's first drive, setting up Melvin Gordon's 3-yard touchdown run.

At the time of Woodhead's injury, the Chargers owned a 7-0 lead.
