Shaun Hill won at Tennessee but the Minnesota Vikings are not ready to name him the starting quarterback for the home opener against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night.

"I try to keep my cards close to the vest," Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said.

Hill had the support of two defensive touchdowns and four field goals in guiding the Vikings to a 25-16 win Sunday, the first game for the Vikings since starter Teddy Bridgewater went down with an ACL tear and dislocated knee on a non-contact play in practice on Aug. 30.

The Vikings traded a first-round pick in 2017 and a fourth-round pick in 2018 to the Philadelphia Eagles for Sam Bradford, the former No. 1 overall pick who previously played for the St. Louis Rams and signed a two-year deal with the Eagles in the offseason.

Zimmer said Monday that he had his reasons for not naming a starting quarterback.

"I just figured it'd be good sports talk radio," Zimmer said. "I haven't decided yet, so we'll figure all that stuff out."

The Vikings, defending NFC North division champions, open their new stadium Sunday night against the Packers.

Bradford did not play Sunday at Nashville. Because of his downfield accuracy and stronger throwing arm, he might help open up the Vikings' offense.

"I thought Shaun did well," Zimmer said. "You take care of the football, make the right plays, and I thought he did good."

Minnesota was stagnant in Week 1. Hill completed 18 of 33 passes for 236 yards, missing a couple of open men on deep throws downfield. The Titans crowded the line and Adrian Peterson rushed for a measly 31 yards on 19 carries with five negative-yardage plays.

"We have to run the ball better. We have to score some touchdowns offensively," Zimmer said.

The Vikings are likely to be without cornerback Xavier Rhodes, who suffered a right knee injury. Zimmer did not provide details on Rhodes' injury but said no surgery is required.

Zimmer said there is no immediate change coming at placekicker but was disappointed in Blair Walsh's play Sunday. Walsh made four field goals but also missed two field-goal attempts and a point-after try.
