JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville Jaguars running back Chris Ivory was admitted to the hospital Sunday morning with what the team is describing as a general medical issue and won't play against the Green Bay Packers.

According to the team, Ivory is doing well and is expected to be released from the hospital in the next day or two. No additional details were immediately available on Ivory's condition.

The Jaguars signed Ivory, who rushed for 1,070 yards and seven touchdowns with the New York Jets last season, to work in tandem with second-year running back T.J. Yeldon. The deal was for five years and $32 million, with $10 million guaranteed.

Ivory was previously questionable to play against the Packers with a calf injury. Ivory was limited in three practices this week due to the calf injury, but ESPN reported his absence Sunday is unrelated to that issue.

Yeldon will start in Ivory's place. Denard Robinson and Corey Grant are the other running backs on Jacksonville's 53-man roster.
