Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin to miss preseason game

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin will miss Saturday's preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars because of bruised ribs, according to multiple reports.

Martin's injury is not expected to keep him out beyond this week.

Martin practiced in full this week, including joint practices in Jacksonville. It is not clear when or how Martin was injured.

Charles Sims and Mike James are the top backs behind starter Martin.

Last year, Martin led the Bucs with 1,402 yards on 288 carries with six touchdowns.
