Ronda Rousey, Joanna Jedrzejczyk on 6-month medical suspension

Former UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, who was knocked out and lost her title to Holly Holm at UFC 193 on Saturday, received a 6-month medical suspension that could be cut to 60 days if she passes a CT scan.

Rousey may have suffered a brain injury and was taken to the hospital following the loss. She reportedly will need plastic surgery on her lip. She was knocked out by a kick to the face from Holm after taking a series of brutal punches to her face prior to the knockout.

Rousey, who already announced plans to take time off following UFC 193, was shown by multiple outlets hiding her face in a travel pillow Tuesday upon returning to Los Angeles from the fight in Australia.

Strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk may have broken her hand in her fight with Valerie Letourneau. Jedrzejczyk won in a decision. Her suspension could be cut if she is cleared by an orthopedic doctor.

Sunday night, Rousey made her only public statement since the fight via Instagram.

"I just wanted to thank everyone for the love and support," Rousey said. "I appreciate the concerns about my health, but I'm fine. As I had mentioned before, I'm going to take a little time, but I'll be back."
