Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson leads in merchandise sales

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is back on top with the NFL's best-selling jersey and in overall merchandise sales.

The NFL Players Inc., the licensing and marketing arm of the NFL Players Association, released its list Wednesday of the top 50 best-selling players among products licensed from March through August.

Wilson ended last year atop the NFLPA's sales charts, but he was interrupted by New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady at the top of the first-quarter list.

Brady took the No. 2 spot despite an offseason of Deflategate controversy. Wilson was the top seller in both men's and women's jerseys. Brady led all players in sales of Fathead wall posters, Oyo figurines and Funkos.

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning (No. 3 overall) had the best-selling name and number T-shirts, while Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (No. 4) sold the most women's T-shirts. Rounding out the top five is Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt. Watt's doll, made by Bleacher Creatures and featured on HBO's "Hard Knocks," was a league best-seller. Watt leads defensive players in Nike jersey sales.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is sixth in overall merchandise sales, followed by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman, Cowboys tight end Jason Witten and New York Giants wide receiver Odel Beckham Jr.

Three rookies made the list -- Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota (No. 17), Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston (No. 26) and Oakland Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper (No. 48).
