Washington Capitals star winger Alex Ovechkin and Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price were among those named to the 2014-15 First All-Star Team on Wednesday. Ovechkin earned his 10th career First Team nomination and seventh as a left wing, with only Ted Lindsay (8) and Bobby Hull (10) having been selected more often at the position. The Russian speedster led the NHL with 53 goals and tied for fourth in the league with 81 points.

On the opposite wing, was dynamic Czech Jakub Voracek, who led the Flyers with a career-best 81 points (22G, 59A) and at center, Hart Trophy finalist and Islanders captain John Tavares, who totaled career highs in goals (38) and points (86).
A pair of Atlantic Division blueliners gained first-team nods: Norris Trophy recipient Erik Karlsson from the Ottawa Senators and Montreal Canadiens rearguard P.K. Subban.
Rounding out the front line, was Hart, Vezina and Lindsay Award winner Price, who put opposing shooters on notice by leading the NHL in wins (44), goals- against average (1.96) and save percentage (.933), becoming the first goaltender to pace the league in all three categories since Chicago's Ed Belfour in 1990-91.
The second team featured Vezina and Masterton Trophy finalist Devan Dubnyk of the Minnesota Wild, defensemen Drew Doughty (Kings) and Shea Weber (Predators), along with forwards Vladimir Tarasenko (Blues) and Jamie Benn (Stars) and center Sidney Crosby.
Ovechkin's nine selections to the All-Star Team, six on the first squad and three on the second, are the most among active players. Jaromir Jagr is second with eight selections.
