Orioles beat Yankees in 11th to start DH

Jimmy Paredes' pinch-hit two-run double in the bottom of the 11th inning lifted the Baltimore Orioles to a 2-1 win over the New York Yankees in the opener of a day-night doubleheader on Friday.

Paredes' winning hit into the right-field corner came after Chris Young broke a scoreless tie for New York with a homer on the top of the inning.

The Orioles won after finding out earlier Friday that 2013 home run king Chris Davis was suspended 25 games by Major League Baseball after testing positive for an amphetamine.

The Yankees nearly had another dramatic win under their belt after beating the Tampa Bay Rays on Young's walk-off three-run homer in the Bronx on Thursday night.
