People connected to the NFL star tell TMZ the alleged victim is an 11-year-old male from Minnesota, and visited Peterson's home in Texas in May. The child's mother noticed injuries upon her son's return home, and took him to a doctor who contacted authorities. A source tells NFL Insider Ian Rapoport the child was allegedly disciplined with a switch.

Matt Vensel of The Star Tribune says Peterson was at practice as usual on Friday. The running back's status in the Vikings game on Sunday is currently undecided.
